Display Quality
The OnePlus 10R comes with a 6.70-inches 10-bit 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution and it’s protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is bright enough to use outdoors, there won’t be any kind of problem while watching YouTube Videos or calling someone.
OnePlus has also added support for Widevine L1 which means, you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms.
That 120Hz screen refresh rate helps a lot while using the UI or social media and also, MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max is a powerful processor and can handle the 120Hz refresh rate without any problem.
There is also an in-display fingerprint on the front which works great but again, this is an Optical sensor, so if your hands are wet then the fingerprint sensor won’t work.
Performance
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max is a new processor from MediaTek and it will give a close performance to Snapdragon 888 SoC, so don’t worry about the performance.
Before we talk about the performance let me share one thing, Qualcomm Charges a premium for their processor whereas Mediatek doesn’t change as much as Qualcomm, so here, I don’t know why OnePlus is charging a premium for the OnePlus 10R 5G?
Coming to the performance,
OnePlus has also added 9 5G bands, so whenever 5G launches in India, you will be able to use the 5G network.
The phone runs on OxygenOS 12.1-based on Android 12, OnePlus didn’t promise anything about the future update but going by the OnePlus record, the phone should get the Android 13 update.
Cameras
OnePlus 10R 5G comes with a 50MP primary sensor + an 8MP ultra-wide lens + a 2MP macro sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. The rear cameras can shoot videos at 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps.
The primary sensor does have OIS but it only works in 1080p mode, it doesn’t work with 4K resolution.
Now, the OIS works fine, it will give the smooth videos at 1080p@30/60fps but don’t expect the same at 4k@30fps. Even with the videos, the sensor is providing good details but just like every single BBK electronic smartphone, it tries to boost the colors, so the footage or images won’t look at natural as they should.
For example, if you’re taking an image of the sky then you won’t get the same image, OnePlus will add extra blue colour.
Audio Quality
The OnePlus 10R 5G has a stereo speaker which works fine, no issues there. Its dual speakers, so can’t complain much. It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone. There is also carrier aggregation support which will help a lot in calling. As this is a flagship smartphone, there is no 3.5mm audio jack.
Battery Life
OnePlus is offering two different versions of the OnePlus 10R 5G, If you want that super fast 150W fast charging then you have to buy a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and this version has 4,500 mAh battery.
There is also an 80W version variant for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and this variant has a 5,000 mAh battery.
- 80W wired fast charging – 1 to 100% in 32 minutes
- 150W wired fast charging – 1 to 100% in 17 minutes
Now, if you’re a heavy user then you will need to charge this smartphone two times a day. Again, even if you manage to kill the full battery then you can always use the 80W or 150W charger.
