The Redmi Note 9S is built around a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The phone’s screen also totes around 450 nits of typical brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both its front and back panels. However, Redmi employs a plastic frame on the Note 9S.
Under the proverbial hood, the Redmi Note 9S is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset, coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. In the RAM and ROM department, the phone boasts 4GB/6GB of RAM tiers and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage options. It is also in this segment in which one of the highlights of the phone resides – a massive 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast wired charging.
As part of the Redmi Note 9 series, the Note 9S also has an impeccable rear camera design – one that is also a rarity in the competition. It features a unique rectangular camera module which is placed at the center of the phone’s back panel. The module houses a quadruple-camera setup, front-lined by a 48MP wide camera. Its auxiliary sensors include 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses.
Inside the Redmi Note 9S’ single display cutout is a 16MP wide, front-facing snapper.
The Redmi Note 9S also features a side-mounted fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The phone runs on MIUI 11, based on the latest Android 10.0.
The Redmi Note 9S will retail in three color variants – Glacier White, Aurora Blue, and Interstellar Grey. The phone debuted globally in March 2020.
